Guyana Women Win T20 Blaze Title
In a thrilling finale of the 2025 Cricket West Indies (CWI) T20 Blaze, Guyana Women defeated Jamaica Women in a dramatic Super Over finish after both teams were tied at 122 runs each at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent recently.
After Guyana won the toss and Jamaica was sent in to bat, they were limited to 122-5 from the allocated 20 overs, thanks to the disciplined bowling effort of Nyia Latchman, who bagged 2-11, and Ashmini Munisar, who claimed 2-26.
Chedean Nation secured the innings with a run-a-ball 35, including 5 boundaries. At the same time, Abigail Bryce scored an unbeaten 32 and Jodian Morgan chipped in with 27 to push Jamaica to a competitive total.
In reply, Guyana mirrored their opponents’ total, finishing at 122-5. Shemaine Campbelle led her team’s chase with 54 runs inclusive of 3 fours and 2 sixes, she was supported by Realeanna Grimmond with a much-needed 46 with 4 fours and a six, after early stumbles.

With the scores even at the end of the game, the match went into a Super Over. Guyana posted 8 runs from the over, with
Vanessa Watts striking to remove Shabika Gajnabi for 3. Captain Campbelle made three, and Grimmond had 2 runs to ensure Guyana got 8 off their power play over.
With Jamaica needing 9 for victory in a nail-biting finish, the team crumbled under pressure as Henry fell for a duck, Nation was run out for 2, and they scored just 3 for 2, sealing a historic title win for Guyana.
