Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association names powerhouse squad for World Indoors
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association has announced a strong squad to compete at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships, which will take place from March 20–23 in Poland.
Olympic silver medalist Kishane Thompson headlines the men’s team, leading a powerful sprint group that includes Ackeem Blake, Bryan Levell, and Demario Price.
The squad also features several athletes across the hurdles and field events, including Jerome Campbell, Delano Kennedy, Reheem Hayles, Navasky Anderson, Rivaldo Marshall, Kimar Farquharson, Tyrice Taylor, Demar Francis, Carey McLeod, Tajay Gayle, and Jordan Scott. Travelling reserves for the men’s team are Jordan Turner, Vashaun Vascianna, and Kadrian Goldson.
On the women’s side, the team is led by sprinter Jonielle Smith. A major highlight is the inclusion of Brianna Lyston, who receives her first call-up to a senior Jamaican national team.
She joins a talented lineup featuring Megan Simmonds, Oneka Wilson, Nickisha Pryce, Kelly-Ann Beckford, Shana Kaye Anderson, veteran middle-distance runner Natoya Goule-Toppin, and field athletes Lamar Distin, Nia Robinson, and Shantae Foreman.
There was one late change to the team after Shanoya Douglas withdrew despite being initially selected. However, world 100m silver medalist Tina Clayton has been named as a reserve, maintaining the squad’s sprinting strength.
Brian Smith will serve as team manager, supported by an experienced coaching staff that includes Paul Francis, former Olympic sprinter Michael Frater, and Kerrylee Ricketts.
Jamaica will be aiming to improve on their 17th-place finish at the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, where the team won four medals — two silver and two bronze.
