Love is in the air: Cupid’s Arrow sets the stage for Valentine’s Day 2026
There are many legends of how Valentine’s Day came about, including the defiant Priest, Emperor Claudius II, who believed single men made better soldiers and outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine viewed this as unjust and continued to perform secret marriages.
Another popular legend claims that while imprisoned, Valentine fell in love with his jailer’s daughter and wrote her a letter signed – “From your Valentine.”
Albeit, the cold snap will not stop celebrants from cozying up, as St. Valentines shoot his arrow to a wealth of events across the boroughs.
This year, the Brooklyn Museum, located at 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, will host “For the Love of Art” – an assortment of art and poetry-centered activities on Feb 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Ask for a Love Note in the American Art Galleries on the 5th Floor, which will kick off the Valentine’s Day celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This will be followed by a Valentine’s Day Card Making in the Egyptian Galleries on the 3rd Floor from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Pop-Up Talks – (Ask for location details at the Admissions Desk), will run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Another Ask for Love Note session will be hosted from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in the Schapiro Wing on the 4th Floor.

Valentine’s Day Coffee and Canvas will be hosted by NYC Parks, and will bring adults to the Williamsbridge Oval on Tuesday, Feb 10, from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. The free Arts & Craft, food, and workshop will be conducted by Kelize St. Bernard, at the Center’s 3225 Reservoir Oval, East Bronx, location.

The Roots, featuring Quest Love, of the Jimmy Fallon Show fame, will present a special Valentine’s Day performance on Feb. 14, at the Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn. The events will admit 21-year-olds and older for a night of Slow Jam.
Valid photo ID is required for entry. Doors open at 6 p.m. Showtime is 8 p.m. No bowling available on this particular night.

A Valentine’s Brooklyn Comedy Show on Feb. 12, at Viva Toro, 987 Grand Street, Brooklyn, will feature TFIVE5K, DAVINCIBEAU, IVANMANITO, AND NUEVAYOL. Doors open at 6 p.m. Showtime is 8 p.m. The standup is calling on fans to Celebrate Valentine’s Day early with some laughs, showcasing the hottest comedians in NYC. It will be an epic night of comedy.

On Feb. 14, 2026 – “It’s A Haitian Party” Valentine’s Day experience. Love Thyself Sip N Vision Plan 2026 celebration takes place on Feb. 14, at 3:00pm. It will welcome Valentine’s celebrants at the Beaufort-Wes, 489 Ralph Avenue, Brooklyn. Door prize, a raffle, and light vegan and meat sandwiches will be on the menu.
The Sip N Create is focused on woman who finds it very hard to love themselves unapologetically. This vision plan concept is singular, to a vision board, but with a plan of action. Co-host Joann Foster is an author and certified Life Coach. Beverly aka Sapphire, is a Safety Educator, Brand Ambassador, and Wellness facilitator. Special guest speaker Najami Lezama will be discussing how self-care can renew one’s purpose and passion.
