Marquis Who’s Who honors Jamaican health strategist Kavelle Christie
Kavelle O. Christie, a national health strategist and an advocate for equitable health care, is recognized by the prestigious biographical registry that honors the world’s most accomplished professionals in various disciplines.
Marquis Who‘s Who has selected Christie as a 2025 inductee into this affluent and historic roster that includes Noble laureates, U. S. Presidents, and global pioneers in medicine, innovation, and leadership.
Christie, born in Jamaica, is the founder and CEO of Orion 360 Health, LLC, a U.S.-based firm specializing in healthcare financing reform, reproductive health equity, and public policy strategy. Her firm has been instrumental in helping government, advocacy coalitions, and organizations expand Medicaid access, navigate healthcare regulations, and craft solutions to improve care delivery, especially for underserved communities.
She is known for her landmark achievements in co-leading the state of Rhode Island’s first-in-the-nation private insurance and Medicaid doula reimbursement law. A model for reproductive justice and advancing birth equity nationwide. She is also recognized for bridging grassroots power with high-level policy reform and for her expertise in various issues, such as prescription drug reform, rural healthcare access, and regulatory oversight.
“As a Jamaican woman navigating U.S. health systems and power structures, I carry with me the cultural clarity, determination, and global lens that my family and this country gave me,” Christie said. Continuing, she added, “This honor is not just mine – it belongs to every voice and story from communities like mine that deserve to shape the systems around us.”
Christie’s policy impact stretches across the U.S., particularly in the South, where she had partnered with local advocates to address maternal mortality, hospital closures, and Reproductive care deserts. At the federal level, she has worked with national coalitions and members of Congress to ensure that the needs of impacted communities are reflected in public policy.
She started some of her early work with Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, where she managed state legislative strategy and led major organizing campaigns. She established a reputation as a policy tactician with deep community roots. She has continued that legacy on the Board of Planned Parenthood votes in Rhode Island, advancing reproduction rights in a post-Dobbs America.
Christie emphasized her point, “I believe policy can be a tool of healing, but only if we fight to make it so,” she stated. “Our power lies in what we build, who we fight for, and how deeply we are willing to believe that a better world is possible, even when others can’t see it,” she declared.
Her insight has been recognized by international media outlets such as Forbes, BBC, NASDAQ, MSN, and the Polish Press Agency.
A frequent commentator and public thought leader, Christie has been recognized as one of Business Insider’s 30 Leaders Under 40 Changing the Healthcare (2023), one of Becker’s Healthcare’s Black Healthcare Leaders to Know (2024), and among Black Leaders World Wide’s Women to Watch (2025).

Christie holds a Master of Science in Global Health from the University of Manchester, a top-ranked member of the UK’s elite Russell Group of universities.
Before transitioning into health policy, Christie established a formidable reputation in Jamaica as a journalist and media strategist.
This milestone for Christie, who moved from her native Jamaica, starting in the press corps there, to U.S. policy circles, stands as a testament to Caribbean excellence on the global stage.
