Sej drops ‘Bad Man’
Trinidadian-born singer and songwriter Sej has dropped her latest single, “Bad Man,” her second official release under Compound Entertainment.
Compound Entertainment is Sej’s renowned label and home to three-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist NE-YO.
Sej, short for her given name Seige, said the single builds on the momentum of her debut single, offering a bolder sound that showcases her evolving artistry and personal growth.
In “Bad Man,” Sej sings, in part: “If you move too mad, you go see the karma. I don’t need no man; I got my own designer.”
She said “Bad Man” blends Caribbean-inspired beats with contemporary R&B and pop elements, resulting in a sound that’s as empowering as it is infectious.
Sej said her music “subtly weaves elements of pop, dancehall, Afrobeats, and R&B to create an original sound”, reflecting her Caribbean roots and personal style.
She said her upcoming singles, including “Bad Man,” “dive into the complexities of modern dating, layered with cultural depth.”
With forthcoming releases, Sej said she plans “to explore themes of love and womanhood.”
She said her career began in 2020, with a “chance meeting” in Tobago, the sister isle of Trinidad, with Soca legend Machel Montano at a video shoot.
Sej said Mantano urged her to expand on her talent.
After migrating to Miami in 2023, Sej said she started recording at the renowned Circle House Studios, eventually resulting in her collaboration with R&B icon NE-YO and signing with Compound Entertainment.
